The New City School Farm is the only school farm in Long Beach and is the ultimate outdoor classroom.  We facilitate hands-on, garden-based learning to improve academic achievement, promote healthy lifestyles and encourage environmental stewardship and community involvement.

We raise Ostrich with a hatching facility so that people can see the ostrich from egg to adult. The Tour includes feeding the youngsters and education about these wonderful, ancient animals.  We also care for injured and abandoned birds.

We have Ostrich Oil products including lotions, soaps, health aids, and feather products, art work with eggs and shells, fresh eggs, and eventually lessons on how to produce art work.  We also feature a picnic area and an outdoor special event site for weddings, parties, anniversaries, etc.

For over 40 years the Bates Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch has provided visitors with a true farm experience.  Bates Nut Farm specializes in pumpkins grown right on the property weighing anywhere from 50 to 200 pounds. Throughout the year, Bates offers tours and educational talks to schools and organizations, in addition to ongoing special events and guest speakers.

Since 2000, Camp Stevens Organic Garden has grown from a small kitchen garden into two, year-round, productive sites with about 2 acres under cultivation, providing spaces for reflection, inspiration and learning as well as physical nourishment for our guests, campers, and resident staff.

In 2009, we began farming another acre on nearby farmland. Our fields there include corn, garlic, greens, beans, onions, potatoes, cauliflower, and more throughout the year. We also raise egg-laying hens.

Forgotten Barrel now occupies the former Ferrara Winery, which was designated a California historic point of interest in the late 1970’s and a historic site by the city of Escondido in 1989. The winery, was established in 1886 as one of San Diego county and Southern California’s first vineyards.

Wines produced in our Napa Valley facility as well as wines crafted in our Southern California Winery, located in Escondido. Grapes sourced from Napa, Sonoma, Central California and San Diego.

Educational and hands-on field trips for ag, living history, and survival workshops.

We offer tours and explanations of how hops are grown and used by both home and commercial brewers to vary the tastes of their beers.  During the harvest season we offer u-pick opportunities, by appointment, and sales of our "wet" hops.  We also sell "dried" hops all year long.  We have a picnic area that overlooks both our hop field and avocado grove where visitors are encouraged to relax and enjoy our quiet surroundings while watching the abundant wildlife and birds that coexist on our farm.  For those who want a greater hands on farm experience, please inquire about staying overnight in our guest suite.

Oasis Camel Dairy, the first and only camel diary in America, supports the efforts of furthering the education of the public world wide about the amazing nature of camels and their milk.

Our Camel Care and Rehabilitation Program assists camels with varying needs including basic socialization with other camels to intensive medical treatment.

Oasis also provides entertainment and education of exotic birds through 'Nancy Riegler's Bird Show' (as seen on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and Tonight Show) as well as other useful information on turkeys, sheep, horses and various other livestock.

Suzie’s Farm is located on 130 beautiful acres near the Tijuana Estuary, 13 miles south of downtown San Diego. Founded by Robin Taylor and Lucila De Alejandro in 2009, we are a USDA-certified organic farm that grows over 100 different types of crops per year. We host private tours and events year-round, and offer public opportunities to visit the farm on the second Saturday of every month and during our family-friendly events. Suzie’s Farm products are found in many area Farmers’ Markets, grocery stores and restaurants, and through its Good Farm Box, Farm Raiser and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs.

Products: growing over 100 varieties of seasonal vegetables, fruit, edible flowers and herbs, pastured eggs, sprouts, micro greens, wheatgrass, dried teas and herbs, mushrooms, and merchandise (t-shirts, hats, stickers, etc).

Very private downstairs flat with separate entrance - has two bedrooms, bathroom has a large clawfoot tub with jacuzzi jets, crystal chandelier and sconces, marble-topped antique washstand - has a very Victorian and rustic feel and is surrounded by avocado trees, banana trees, guava and other tropical plants.

If you are looking for a unique experience that isn't a hotel or your average b&b, this is it - a very remote and beautiful location - breathtaking scenery, romantic and extremely quiet and relaxing. There is a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker and grinder - includes ripe avocados and other fruit in season, bagels with cream cheese, juice and coffee beans. Drive 10 minutes thru the hills to the beach where there are plenty of great restaurants and grocery stores to choose from in Carpinteria - drive 10 more minutes along the ocean past Summerland and Montecito to Santa Barbara.
